Large poultry processing plant emanates odors from the kill floor, and various processing areas, coolers, rendering and waste treatment facility. The plant was in close proximity to a large urban area that is densely populated. Previous efforts to neutralize odors including misting (masking agents/scents), enzymes, electronic purifiers, ozone generators and air scrubbers were unsuccessful.
The HGI Distributor Hydroxyl Environmental conducted a detailed site assessment of the various areas within the facility and outlined a specific solution using the large industrial MVP series. The MVP series are capable of rapidly breaking down massive amounts of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) while simultaneously destroying a long list of biological pathogens.
Hydroxyl Environmental recommended installing 4 Odorox units (3 MVP 14’S and 1 MVP 48). Immediately the effect was noticeable on the fugitive odors results throughout the neighborhood, community and nearby college. In addition workers within the plant itself noticed a positive change in the air quality. The Head of Maintenance, Engineering and Projects stated that he was surprised beyond words of the reduction in insects and rodents, not to mention what the technology offered in bacteria and mold reduction.
The facility has expanded and its permits were approved. The hydroxyl generators have resolved all the odor issues. The plant has since added a retail store component where the public can buy direct from the facility. The Odorox systems provide a non-chemical environmentally safe solution for both the public and the plant.
