HGI Case Study – Automobile Manufacturing Kentucky
Automobile Manufacturing Kentucky
HGI Industries has created cutting edge ultra violet hydroxyl generating technology which has been at the forefront of high volume odor processing, air-decontamination and air-purification. HGI’s patented technology is the world’s only scientifically proven non-contained Hydroxyl Generator. The ODOROX® products line of non-chemical devices provides an environmentally safe solution.
Major automotive manufacturer had issues with VOC’s in paint as well as odors from organic degreasers and cutting fluids that were trapped in sludge pits. The off gassing from these pits permeated the entire plant floor of the manufacturing facility.
With the 24 hour operation of the facility the organic based coolant was continually recycled from the CNC machines. Odor spread from the factory floor to the surrounding residential neighborhood and local residents and the municipality registered formal complaints. HGI performed testing over a six month period with their technical team and the Odorox results indicated that the technology neutralized the sludge pits odors.
By adding the Odorox systems to the cutting room floor to neutralize the odors the plant was now compliant with the odor issues. The worker’s health and wellbeing were restored from the nauseous smells created by the organic cutting fluids.
The Kentucky facility is considering additional models. A manager from Kentucky was transferred to the Alabama plant and order and installed 12 Odorox – IDU’s in the office duct works and the cafeteria area. In addition a Boss XL3 was strategically placed in a small odor causing space. There has been other installation initiatives underway in other sister plants.
