Problem

Automated bottling lines are both efficient and productive with bottling capacity at 1000 bottles per minute and 1500 cans per minute.  Chlorine dioxide solution is sprayed on the capping line at 200 liters per minute. Multiple lines and brands add’s to the complexity and impact on productivity along with sterilization.

Bacteria Abatement

Spilled yeast and sugars on the filling lines cause bacterial problems and require line stoppage, clean up and production issues. This has become a long term issue that needed to be addressed by management to maintain production, profitability brand and worker safety.

Results

By adding the Odorox systems to the bottling line the brewery reduced the use of Chlorine Dioxide solution by > 65%. The unscheduled production line shut down’s were reduced by > 90%. The line changes over-times were reduced from 12 hours to approximately 4 hours. There was also reduced chemical exposure and reduction of the workplace safety risk.

Long Term

The state of the art MVP 48 series provides an ongoing engineered solution through its remote monitoring system, matching hydroxyl generation to bacteria and fugitive odors on the filling line. All troubleshooting and maintenance is monitored on line by HGI. Without the line stoppage the plant is able to produce an extra million bottles every 10 days per line.  Pay out of the HGI equipment was in  weeks.
